Serve para saber como est\u00e1 o funcionamento dos rins, como tamb\u00e9m indicar a presen\u00e7a de doen\u00e7as a exemplo da infec\u00e7\u00e3o urin\u00e1ria.<br> O exame de urina pode detectar muitos outros problemas como, por exemplo: desidrata\u00e7\u00e3o, nefrites, infec\u00e7\u00f5es renais, infec\u00e7\u00f5es urin\u00e1rias baixas, tumores, diabetes, hipertens\u00e3o arterial, doen\u00e7as por defeitos metab\u00f3licos e at\u00e9 pedras nos rins.<br> Normalmente, pede-se que o paciente fique sem urinar por no m\u00ednimo 4 horas, antes de coletar o xixi.
